Kwong Lung Enterprise (8916-TW), a global leader in functional outerwear manufacturing, held its investor conference today and reported consolidated revenue of NT$843 million for August 2026, down 6.7% month-over-month but up 42.4% year-over-year, with all three core business segments posting annual growth. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months reached NT$5.47 billion, narrowing the year-over-year decline to just 1.6%, compared with a 6.9% decline through July. Management noted that shipment activity has strengthened as the industry entered its traditional peak production and delivery season, with higher utilization across its manufacturing footprint. The company expects third-quarter revenue to return to year-over-year growth. By segment, apparel revenue increased 35.6% year-over-year to NT$510 million, accounting for 60.6% of consolidated revenue, reflecting stronger peak-season shipments from major brand customers. Down and feather revenue rose 91.0% to NT$144 million, supported by improving order and shipment demand from key customers. Home textile revenue increased 36.8% to NT$185 million, as customer inventory adjustments continued to normalize and replenishment demand strengthened into the peak season. At the investor conference, Kwong Lung noted that its core businesses faced a more challenging first half amid cautious global brand procurement, customer inventory adjustments and higher raw material costs. Operating conditions have gradually stabilized since entering the third quarter. A greater concentration of higher-margin apparel products is scheduled for shipment during the quarter, supporting a more favorable product mix, while down and feather shipment momentum is expected to exceed the prior-year level. Home textiles are also benefiting from replenishment orders and stronger seasonal demand. Apparel order visibility has now extended into 1Q27, with overall orders from major customers remaining stable. The company continues to deepen its exposure to growth-oriented outdoor and functional apparel brands while broadening its customer base. Beginning in September, Kwong Lung will start taking bulk orders from a new U.S. outdoor brand, while a European retailer’s private-label program has entered the trial-order stage. The company is also expanding beyond its traditional woven outdoor apparel base into knitwear, sports and everyday functional apparel, supported by new customer additions, product-mix optimization and greater flexibility across its regional manufacturing network. Looking ahead, management remains cautious on the full-year revenue outlook given continued uncertainty in the global economy and brand purchasing environment. Near-term priorities remain focused on stabilizing core operations, improving product mix and strengthening earnings quality. Kwong Lung also reiterated its long-term commitment to shareholder returns and will continue to balance business investment, cash flow generation and capital allocation flexibility while improving operating efficiency and capital returns, laying a more resilient foundation for the next phase of growth. |
